Elopement on the dolomites

An elopement on the Dolomites for these two Dutch guys who didn’t mind the cold. Specifically, we are on the passo Giau, very close to Cortina D’Ampezzo, a perfect location for photo shoots. Although I admit, what place in our mountains isn’t? This is where we met to begin our shoot: me in boots, down jacket and scarf, and them in wedding attire without even socks. I lost count of the number of times I asked them if they weren’t cold, but the answer was always “don’t worry we’re fine!”

We started our shoot in front of a beautiful little house, then climbing the mountain to see the view from above -and also to warm up a bit!-. We had chosen the perfect time to get the best possible photos, starting the shoot a few hours before sunset…. which, of course, there was not! We had to accept a crazy wind and clouds, which in the end in my opinion were almost better! They certainly helped create a different atmosphere, darker perhaps but also much more intense. The only “flaw”? The clouds hid the beautiful mountains typical of this area, but in any case I am definitely satisfied with this Elopement on the Dolomites, a very intimate wedding in the mountains!
